George Pratt Signs Pro Deal With Blackburn Rovers

We are delighted to share that UFCA graduate, George Pratt, has signed his first professional deal with Blackburn Rovers.

The 18-year-old defender has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with Rovers, keeping him at Ewood Park until June 2024.

George joined Ultimate Football Coaching Academy in 2012 aged nine years old, with no previous pro-club experience.

In 2018, he was a member of the UFCA U15s squad to face Blackburn Rovers U15s in a showcase fixture - where he caught the eye of opposition coaches with an impressive display. Following a successful trial, he signed with Blackburn Rovers in May 2018, becoming a key figure in their Under 18s’ side - before making the step up to Blackburn Rovers U23s playing in Premier League 2.

Steve Hart, UFCA Academy Director, commented: "On behalf of everybody at UFCA, we are incredibly proud to see George sign his first professional deal - which is a fantastic achievement for him and his family.

"George joined us at Under 10s, and displayed a tremendous work ethic and desire to learn during his six years at UFCA.

"He sets an incredible example to our current academy players, who dream of following the footsteps of George."

George Pratt commented: “Casting my mind back to playing for UFCA just a few years ago, to where I am now - it’s hard to find the words to describe just how good the feeling is.

“The last year in particular has been brilliant and there’s been a lot of positives for me to take. I’ve featured quite a bit for the Under 23s and it’s been good to play with and against some more experienced players.

“The hard work continues for me now. I can’t let up now I’ve signed the deal. This is the stepping stone for people to see what I can do and to create an impression on everyone at the club.”
