Kalaab Signs For Barnsley FC Academy

Ultimate Football Coaching Academy are delighted to announce that Under 14s player Kalaab Daniel has signed for Barnsley FC Academy.

Kalaab has put pen to paper on an initial one-year deal with The Tykes for the 2022/23 season - following a successful trial period.

The 14-year-old winger joined UFCA aged nine years old - where he has continually progressed and developed over five seasons.

A crucial member of Isaiah Rankin's UFCA Under 14s team in the Junior Premier League this season, Kalaab attracted interest from a number of EFL clubs before joining Barnsley FC.

Kalaab commented: "First of all I want to thank God, my parents, my coaches and UFCA.

"They've turned me into a player from where I was when I was younger to who I am today.

"They've helped me a lot, and all the coaches I owe a big thank you to when I go back there.

"I'm excited to take on new challenges and new levels - and I'm thankful for this opportunity."

Isaiah Rankin, Under 14s Coach at UFCA added: "It's fantastic news for Kalaab and his family, and for everyone that's helped him on his journey.

"Everyone at UFCA wishes him all the best, we hope for him to come back some time soon and train and to see all the boys. "The hard work starts now. I think he's got a bright future ahead of him."

Mick Tarmey, Head of Academy Recruitment at Barnsley FC, commented: "There's hundreds and hundreds of kids that want to be where Kalaab is tonight.

"He's come in on trial and had to work really hard. He's been with a strange bunch of lads to begin with, but happily for us, he's been able to enjoy the environment and express himself.

"I'm more than pleased that we're able to sign him on tonight and I'm sure he's excited about the next stage of it."
